The gondola is the symbol of Venice.
Almost unchanged in shape since the 16th century, the gondola was reserved for the personal transport of wealthy Venetians until the beginning of the 20th century. Today grouped in a brotherhood, the gondoliers mainly take tourists who wish to treat themselves to a romantic moment on the canals of the "serenissima".

De forme quasiment inchangée depuis le 16è siècle, la gondole était réservée au transport personnel de riches vénitiens jusqu’au début du 20ème siècle. Aujourd’hui regroupé dans une confrérie, les gondoliers promènent principalement les touristes qui souhaitent s’offrir un instant romantique sur les canaux de la « sérénissime ».
